About the Distillery
This month, a quick boat ride across to the Orkney Islands to try their Highland Park 12yo.
First licensed in 1824, the Highland Park distillery was reportedly opoerating as early as the 1790’s. Run by a (apparently slightly shady) preacher by the name of Magnus Eunson, it is rumoured that he evaded taxes by hiding his whisky in “a number of creative locations”.
Highland Park’s distinctive taste is said to be attributed to the local Heather which is mixed with the peat (also locally grown) used to malt the barley.

Highland Park 12yo - Our Thoughts
Colour: Glowing Amber
Nose: Smoky, sweet with a touch tones of sweet heather, citrus and malt.
Palate: Exceptionally soft, round and full
